Now Hiring: Deputy Fire Chief

DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF

Are you ready to take your fire career to the next level? We are looking for a Deputy Fire Chief. The ideal candidate has strong management and leadership skills, expertise in firefighting, emergency response, and fire prevention, a clear understanding of fire service operations and community needs, and exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in the fire service or related emergency service to include responsible management, supervisory, and administrative experience with at least 5 years of experience as a fire officer; and

  • Experience with both structure fire prevention and response, wildland fire prevention and response, and emergency medical services; and

  • NIMS certifications IS-100 through IS-400, and IS-700 and IS-800; and

  • Valid state driver’s license.

  • Must reside within the District unless otherwise approved by the Board of Fire Commissioners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or significant coursework from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency, in fire administration, fire prevention technology, or related equivalent coursework;

  • Idaho or National Registry EMT-Basic or higher license;

  • Experience in fire prevention and protection, including experience as a Fire Marshal.
