ANNOUNCEMENT: COMMISSIONER VACANCY

The Spirit Lake Fire Protection Board of Fire Commissioners will be filling a vacancy on the Board for subdistrict 1. The Board will fill the vacancy at a public meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 9 a.m.

The person selected will take office immediately and serve the remainder of the unexpired term through 12/31/2027. Compensation is set at $100 per meeting. The Board usually holds two meetings per month, but additional special meetings may be scheduled as needed.

Letters of interest for the position need to be in the District office by 4 p.m. on May 8, 2026, by emailing admin@spiritlakefire.com or mailing to Spirit Lake Fire Protection District, PO Box 116, Spirit Lake, ID 83869.

Applicants must have been a resident for at least one year within the boundaries of subdistrict 1 and be registered to vote.

The Spirit Lake Fire Protection District’s Board of Commissioners is elected to four-year terms, representing the three subdistricts within the District’s boundaries. As the governing body of the Fire District, the board manages and conducts the business and affairs of the District in accordance with Idaho Code Title 31, Chapter 14.

Public Board meetings are held on the second and third Wednesday of every month at Station 1, 32182 N 6th Avenue, in Spirit Lake, Idaho, unless otherwise noted. The meetings begin at 9 a.m.
