BURNING REGULATIONS
OUTSIDE CONTROLLED
BURNING REQUIREMENTS
- Before
burning call 1-800-633-6247 you may call 769-1422 as back up only,
for AIR QUALITY ADVISORY. GREEN
means open burning is OK, if advisory indicates RED or YELLOW open burning
is closed. NOTE: If date
indicated on message is different then date you are calling, please use
advisory given. They will only
update it when there is a change in Air Quality.
- Burning
is allowed during daylight hours only. Small campfires for cooking food are
allowed at night.
- Burning
of construction debris by contractors is prohibited.
- Burning
of trash, plastic, tires, and garbage is prohibited.
- Logging
slash piles and field burning must meet Idaho Department of Lands
guideline. Permits are required
from the Idaho Dept. of Lands from May 10th to October 20th
(769-1577). Burning of stumps is
prohibited in populated areas.
- Your
fire is your responsibility. Fires must be tended by a responsible
adult with adequate tools and equipment to control your fire (shovel,
garden hose, etc).
- All
burning requires a clearance of fifty (50) feet from any residence or
structure, and ten (10) feet from any combustibles.
- Burning
is allowed by property owners, legal occupants, and/or authorized
individuals.
- BURNING
DURING CLOSED BURNING SEASON IS PROHIBITED.
- Failure
to comply with burning requirements may result in a misdemeanor citation
and/or being charged for extinguishments cost.
